Organise your photos into a short selection (three to five images) to show during the workshop. Using your phones take pictures around Milton Keynes of colours, patterns and/or materials that particularly stand out to you in the architecture, in street scenes, inside homes or buildings, in peoples clothing or in nature. Think about if it would make a good place to gather, if there is space for it to be seen - it may enliven a boring spot or offer a place to rest on a busy corner etc Actively listen to what people around you are talking about, try to understand the mood, look for what isn’t there &nbsp;Find / choose something you can fit in your hand and bring it with you. We spent time looking through the preparatory work they had done, discussed their perspectives on Oakgrove, what they saw, what they liked, the general vibe of the place, and what would be good if it changed. We then looked at how objects can hold meaning and value, and how we can play with this, through object theatre, through the words we put around them and by how we arrange them and the context we put them in. At the meeting the artists presented a wide variety of possible forms and ideas. There was consensus that a series of works throughout the linear park would be something we might want to aim for. The artworks are to be made from carved and shaped natural stone, and cast bronze and iron. The quality of the materials and finish will be very high. The artworks also offer places to sit, gather, and picnic, with plinths also acting as tables and benches. The sculptural objects will be robust and designed to be touched. In areas this will be left to age into a natural green patina, elsewhere it will be polished into a rich brown. Sculpted elements made from different coloured marbles. The works also began with a close look at the archaeology of the site - to flat knapped stones and ancient timbers with holes in found around the site.
